Developmental Core
The Developmental Core coordinates pilot funding, networking, and educational and training opportunities to develop a multidisciplinary, community-engaged climate and health research workforce. The Core works closely with both the Community Engagement Core (CEC) and the Exposure Assessment Core (EAC) to ensure that REACH-sponsored climate and health research is responsive to topics arising from government and community partners, and that researchers are equipped with state-of-the-science geospatial datasets.
By developing a multidisciplinary, community-engaged climate and health research workforce, identifying and supporting key researchers working on climate, heath, and related topics through its pilot program, and providing educational and networking activities that bring researchers together in ways that overcome disciplinary and institutional barriers, the Core’s activities will help researchers develop the relationships and knowledge necessary to foster collaborative, multidisciplinary, action-oriented climate and health research that will generate practical solutions for the world’s toughest challenges.
